Our Glacier...

Started at 12:45.  All layered soil was placed into tub.

Ice was put into place.  Sticks with pink on them mark where the ice started.

Thermometers were placed all around the tub.  Temperature was about 20 degrees Celsius.

Observations were then completed.

Waiting for more observations.

Approximately 2:10pm.  Ice is beginning to melt.  Second set of observations.

Temperature is beginning to drop to about 15 degrees Celsius.

About 4:45pm.  More melting.

The soil at the bottom, furtherest from the ice, is cold from the touch.

Starting to see some erosion.

Soil is leaving its mark on the ice.

Week of January 2, 2012

As I look back at the first half of the school year, I thought of the great things we had done.  All of the hard work that went into many tests and assignments.  Then I thought of the things that we need to improve upon as we sail through the last half of the school year.  I was so proud of my blogging in September, October, and November.  I stuck to it as I stated at Open House.  Then December happened.  I'm sorry that I have posted in awhile.  The holidays were crazy.  Now, we are back into the swing of things and I wanted to give you some updates.
