I'm sitting watching the snow fall, thinking about how close we are to Xmas break. This year has flown by!!!! We are in a review week in Reading. I am going to try to stay on schedule, giving the big unit test Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. This gives the students passages to read and questions to answer, like the OAA. The kids are still working on the books that I gave them on Monday. They should be finished with Day 2 reading by tomorrow morning.
We are supposed to take a math test on Wednesday. I'm going to try to keep that on track. Measurement and decimals are the focus. I'm going to try to wrap everything up on Wednesday. We do have our party on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, this will be a great time for all of us. Please feel free to stop by!
Stay safe and we'll talk again soon....

The first part of the unit is about decimals. It was great to see you all at conferences. I had two nights of great conversations with you. Enjoy your week!!!!

Week of November 8, 2010
Today ends the first quarter. It's hard to believe that we have one quarter under our belts. Report cards will go home on Friday. Students have been doing a GREAT job of getting their work done. Please continue to monitor this at home. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thursday is Veteran's Day. I hope everyone enjoys the day off and takes a minute to remember our past and present Armed Forces.
This week, we are studying geometry. We started today with line segments, lines, and rays. Tomorrow is computer lab day to work on FASTT Math. In Reading, the kids were very happy about only having five vocabulary words. I think our favorite was "dudes". :) We will be reading "Coyote School News" tomorrow and Wednesday.

Hello! We are giving the SAT Test this week. Please make sure your child is at school on time. A good breakfast and plenty of rest are some great strategies to help your child be ready to do their best. We will not be doing spelling or a new reading lesson this week. We do plan on continuing with Unit 3 in Math. Have a great week!

Hello! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We are starting Unit 2 in
Reading Street with a look at Lewis and Clark. I am sending home a family letter today with all of the skills, vocabulary, and spelling words. Everything will be tested on Thursday this week due to the teacher inservice day on Friday. The first math test will be on Thursday as well. I know this is a lot for one day. Please remember, reading will be done together as a practice. So really they only have to prepare for math and spelling. This is only happening because of the short week. We will be careful not to have math on the same day as reading/spelling in the future. Thank you for your patience!!!!
