Week of November 28, 2011

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We are on a normal schedule for the next few weeks.  That will help everyone re-establish routines.  I have entered all the grades for everything that I have graded to this point.  We have many missing assignments for November.  Please check their assignment sheets daily.  Fourth graders have reading, spelling, and math homework nightly.  We also have a science test on Thursday over Fossils.  I hope you have a great week!

Assignments for the week:

Monday-Read small group book, Page 82(1-5) in math journal, Spelling WS.  Also I gave them a science WS to do at school/home.  You may want to ask about it.

Tuesday-Small Group WS due Thursday, Page 85 (1, 3, 4) in math journal, Spelling on Notebook page 146.

Wednesday-Small Group WS due Thursday, Spelling on Notebook page 151, Study Link 4.2 for math, study for science test

Thursday-Fluency WS due Friday, Spelling WS and Study, Study reading vocabulary, Math Study Link 4.3

Week of Thanksgiving!

First and foremost, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Whether you are in town or traveling, be safe and enjoy the time with family and friends.  We only have three days of school this week.  That means no Reading Street, small groups, or spelling.  We are going to read several interesting articles in reading and continue our look at fossils.  MATH TEST IS ON TUESDAY!  We are going to wrap up Unit 1 on Geometry.  We will be starting Unit 4 when we return.  Homework will be light this week.

MONDAY-Let's Talk Turkey article is due on Wednesday.  Study for math test.

CONFERENCES!!!!

Elementary School conferences are this Tuesday, November 15 and Monday, November 21.  I have scheduled everyone a conference.  I sent them home in the Report Card envelope.  Please let me know if you are planning on attending.  THANKS!  I hope to see you then!

FINALLY, a regular week.  This week will find us reading the story Scene Two.  We will have fluency, small group work, and spelling this week.  We will continue working on Geometry in math.  Science will find us looking into fossils.

Week of November 7th

This is a very short week for our kids.  We will not be completing a Reading Street Unit.  This means no spelling, small group work, or fluency.  Conference forms will be sent home today.  PLEASE send those back ASAP so that I can the schedule made.  THANKS!
